Mission
The mission of Sacandaga Valley Arts Network is to promote the Arts throughout the Sacandaga Region.
We believe this mission will:
Improve the quantity, quality, and diversity of cultural programming throughout the Sacandaga region.
- Assist local artists working in any medium and any skill level to improve their social, artistic, and economic opportunities.
- Support and encourage artists of any age or development.
- Act as a regional economic catalyst.
- Preserve our basic character as rural Adirondack communities.
- Improve the quality of life in our communities.
About SVAN
The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network, Ltd. is a New York not-for-profit corporation serving the region’s growing arts community and qualifies as an exempt organization under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. With the support of our members, we promote the arts throughout our region. By supporting cultural arts we improve the quality of life in our area, instill greater community pride and spirit, and help strengthen the local economy.
We serve the communities which lie all or mostly within the Sacandaga River watershed in the south-central Adirondacks, an area covering almost 1000 square miles and parts of four counties. They are: Arietta/Piseco, Lake Pleasant/Speculator, Wells, Hope, Benson (Hamilton), Bleecker, Northville/Northampton, Mayfield, Broadalbin (Fulton), Providence, Edinburg, Day, Hadley (Saratoga), and Lake Luzerne Village (Warren).
