The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network is pleased to present Saratoga painter, Stu Eichel. His exhibit, entitled "Eichel on Auto" will be on view from April 1 - 29, 2011 at the SVAN Artists Gallery in the Northville Public Library. A reception for the artist will take place on April 12th from 6 to 8 P.M. It is free and all are welcome. Eichel worked in advertising for many years until realizing that his love of fine arts needed to be nurtured. Commenting on his ability to see beauty in the ordinary, Eichel states, "I definitely see things in a different way. It's a wonderful ability to be able to see something that needs recording and put it down." He has done just that with many of the buildings in Saratoga and even captured on canvas the Country Store on South Shore Road in Batchellerville. Eichel has painted every type of vehicle from classic cars to those in a field being swallowed by brush and weeds. A plein air painter, he works primarily on location rather than exclusively in his studio Creating art from a view right in front of him motivates his spontaneity.
Even if one has only a passing interest in cars, these works will appeal to all who enjoy viewing vibrant oils on canvas and who can reminisce about days gone by. Meet the Artist on April 12th.
