After registering at the Northville Gallery between 9-9:30 am, we will car pool to the Gritsavage property.   There is an outhouse for your comfort, picnic table and a canoe and paddle boat for your use.  Bill & Lauren Gritsavage, property owners, will guide hikes for those interested. Participants can choose a meandering walk with time to photograph and to collect natural items, or a brisk hike that covers more ground. Or you can do both! The day’s schedule will be flexible to suit your wishes. Wading, swimming and sun bathing or fishing are options.

The Gritsavages will man the grill around noon time, roasting hot dogs, also providing macaroni salad, chips and drinks for your enjoyment, (your additions to lunch welcome) followed by brownies for dessert.

Dianne Knapp, retired Art Teacher, will bring along a selection of art materials to share, and provide guidance and encouragement for creative activities.  Many artist find inspiration for their work in nature.  Poetry, prose, sketching, photography, dance and more stem from experiences in the beauty of nature.

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”         -Rachel Carson
